During each Support Raising Leaders Conference, we recognize a life-long champion of personal support raising who has given decades to the service of others in this critical area of ministry. 

It is our honor to recognize Betty Barnett with the Lifetime Service Award for Modeling Relational Support Raising at the Support Raising Leaders Conference in Colorado Springs, CO April 12, 2023. Watch the recap video of the award ceremony!

Betty Barnett has been in full-time Christian service since 1975, dependent upon missionary support from her church, friends, and family. Describing herself as a “missions equipper,” she has served with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for over 35 years. Her dynamic speaking and training ministry has taken her to countries all over the world, encouraging thousands of missionaries with the principles found in her book, Friend Raising: Building a Missionary Support Team that Lasts. Betty has spent a lifetime modeling to all of us how to love our supporters, pray for them, and involve them in our ministries. She hasn’t just shown us how to fund raise…but how to friend-raise! 

In well over 40 nations, Betty Barnett has taught the biblical principles of generosity, trusting God, and making relationships the centerpiece of our Christian work and ministry partner development. Her vision, passion, and perseverance to fulfill the Great Commission by raising up and helping workers get funded is legendary. In addition, Betty has been instrumental in the planning and implementation of the Funding Your Ministry Symposium and the SRLC.

We honor Betty Barnett, a pioneer and champion for biblical and relational support raising, a woman who has touched the world for Christ through her life and teachings.
